politics on youtube
Most of the political advertising I've seen here in Rhode Island has either been very air-headedly empty (vote for me because I have a family and I know how to shake hands with old people) or have been nasty mud-slinging hate ads (no actual content, just attack, attack, attack).
Some places have had more substantive (although quite pointed and hard-hitting) political ads. This one is against Representative Jim Walsh, who represents New York State's 25th Congressional District (which, I believe, the Syracuse area). He apparently voted against federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. It is hard-hitting but quite clear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4tFk9WL jwM&eurl=
(I tend to support the point of view expressed in that ad -- but I'm a bit torn -- on his Web page Rep. Walsh has a section called "Jim's Journal" -- heh! How can I be against a guy like that? *grin* Ah, well, not my district nor state, so it's a moot point.)
